Chan Ming Chi is a local veteran composer who graduated from the Elisabeth University of Music in Japan with a Doctor’s degree. He is currently the Professor at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, composer of the Song and Dance Theater of Guangxi and the Hong Kong Festival Wind Orchestra. Last year, he was awarded ‘Artist of the Year (Music)’ of the ‘Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2017’. For years, Chan actively composes music and employs cultures of different regions as inspiration to input new elements to his works.
