Organised by the Music Copyright Society of China (MCSC), Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong Limited (CASH), and Macao Association of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (MACA), with the support of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC), the ‘2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Collective Management of Copyright in Music Works Forum’ was successfully held on 10 October 2024, at the Galaxy International Convention Center in Macau.
This year’s forum consisted of several sessions, including the opening ceremony, the premiere of “Copyright Ignites Creativity”, the release of the report on the protection of music copyrights in audiovisual works, keynote speeches, and panel discussions. It gathered government and association representatives from the three regions, as well as representatives from international organisations, legal professionals, musicians, university professors and scholars, representatives from the education sector, music users, and industry figures, with approximately 150 guests attending the event.
The forum successfully facilitated discussions on establishing a cooperative framework in the Greater Bay Area to enhance the protection of creators and address the challenges and opportunities in the age of artificial intelligence and the internet. It also effectively promoted cooperation, exchange, and development among the music copyright collective management organisations of the three regions.
